Spring in the House

Its a new day and the light is good enough to begin again with colour and form.

I am looking out of my window and all the greens are shifting in the light wind.

The day is placing its gentle light on the dressing table and the mirror is washed with Spring.

My shoes are undusted and I walk out into the May morning- hearing the blackbird and Laurie Lee's words. The calm is catching. I feel the peace and walk to the gate- the field beyond pulls me onwards. I am one day younger by standing here to change the way I see and breathe.
